Learn to Sing Classes
Period:
nine weekly, hour and fifteen minute-long classes with last class meeting
as a recital During the class, the instructor will spend two thirds of each class teaching basic vocal technique including: pitch, vocal warm-up exercises, resonance, quality of voice, singing vowels and consonants, proper breathing and how to sing both alone and with other people, e.g., solo/blending. The other third of each class will be spent on learning songs. Pieces learned include: chants, rounds, and songs with easy harmonies that the class can learn to sing together using vocal techniques they have been taught. The pieces are used to gauge vocal/singing improvement and ability to sing with others. At the last class period, the class applies the techniques they have learned and holds a class recital at a local area cafe.
