Folk Nouveau Lyrics

These songs have been written over the last few years. Since English is not my first language, I have had the opportunity to learn and study it in a way that is different from many native English speakers. I believe that because of this, my songs reflect both my fascination with the English language and my roots and heritage in Eastern Europe. In June 2003, I released my first solo CD, titled, "Sound the Deep Waters" and so here, I present to you two ways of learning about my music.

First, there is the Lyrics page with the lyrics and introductions to all of the songs that I have written. More are added all the time, and I hope that you will keep coming back to visit this page to read the new material.

Next, I am pleased to present the Sounds page. Here are recorded snippets of my original work as well as some classical interpretation and traditional tunes and songs. Also, per the request of a number of people I have met at various festivals, here I include rough recordings of some of the chants I have written over the years. As I complete more recordings of both chants and original songs, I will be putting them up on this page.

    In spirit and song,

    Izolda
