Two To Tango © Izolda Trakhtenberg 2002 This song came to me and I wish I could say how. It's like nothing I've ever written before; I think of it as my cross-over pop/country song. I have an absolutely terrific time singing it to my cats and can't wait to share it with others. I guess the song is really about the dance we all dance in order to find our one, true love. You know the old saying: "You have to kiss a lot of frogs in order to find your prince." Think of it as my attempt at a modern-day version of the story of the spheres from the Dialogs of Plato. (The story goes that as we await to be born, we are not one single indvidual. We are instead a sphere made up of two parts. The parts are sometimes female/male, sometimes female/female, and yet other times male/male. As we are about to be born, the spheres are split apart and placed into beings and some hang out and wait for beings to be placed into. Then, we spend our lives trying to find and rejoin with our other half, our perfect complement, the one person who'll make us complete.) Listen to the partial mp3 on the sounds page.
At
your grandma's knee the fairy tales had their say
The
skirt is cute the make-up just right
He
promises moon and stars he hops from bar to bar Back to Lyrics
