Images of the Sacred
I believe that images we make ourselves have special power. To that end, a few years ago, I began to work with sculpey to create my own images/tools to serve as altar pieces. Below are some pieces that I have created out of sculpey. I decided to create elemental goddesses (to help focus meditation on the elements and a horned god (really because I wanted one), and I also decided to create a set of seasonal greenmen. It's a wonderful way to personalize your altar and to really charge your altar tools/pieces with your own energy as the idea for what you make emanates from within and when it is completed (read brought to fruition) it is all the more meaningful to the person who created it. Soon, I'll publish instructions on how to make your own. With a few simple rules, you can let your imagniation run free and create some incredible pieces. ***Please note: sculpey is not food safe. Please do not make drinking or eating vessels of any kind out of sculpey.*** Enjoy.
